A progressive tax is one in which those with higher incomes pay a rate.

Answers

Answer 1

A progressive tax is a type of tax system in which the tax rate increases as the taxable amount or income increases.

What exactly is Progressive tax?

In other words, those with higher incomes are taxed at a higher rate than those with lower incomes. This is done in order to promote greater income equality by ensuring that those who can afford to pay more in taxes do so, while also providing a source of revenue for government programs and services.

Under a progressive tax system, the tax rate is typically structured into several tiers or brackets, with each bracket corresponding to a certain range of income. The tax rate increases with each bracket, so that higher levels of income are subject to a higher tax rate than lower levels of income. This means that individuals with higher incomes pay a greater percentage of their income in taxes than those with lower incomes.

Examples of progressive taxes include the federal income tax in the United States, as well as many state and local income taxes. Other types of progressive taxes may include estate and gift taxes, as well as certain consumption taxes such as those on luxury goods or fuel.

The relevance of these inscriptions is debatable, but they certainly caused a state of anger among the American people towards the Spaniards, so that in those circumstances a war was started.

Ghost Dance is a distinct ceremony in late 19th-century religious movements that represented an attempt of Native Americans in the western united states to rehabilitate their traditional cultures.

The Ghost Dances were a ceremony which was incorporated into numerous Native American belief systems. These are key ceremonies within a broader Indigenous religious movement that developed in the late nineteenth century in reaction to the brutal conquest of Native American nations by the US government and white settlers. The dances were performed to activate the movement’s prophecy of a return to traditional Native American ways of life. According to the teachings of the Northern Paiute spiritual leader Wovoka, proper practice of the dance would reunite the living with spirits of the dead, bring the spirits to fight on their behalf, end American westward expansion, and bring peace, prosperity, and unity to Native American peoples throughout the region.

lines are made using “ground” (Plato)

Answers

Lines are made using "ground" according to Plato's understanding.

Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher, believed that lines are made using "ground." This statement can be interpreted metaphorically, indicating that lines are created through a foundation or basis.

In the context of Plato's philosophy, this concept can be related to his theory of Forms, where he posited that physical objects in the world are imperfect representations of ideal, abstract forms.Plato suggested that the physical world is a mere reflection or imitation of a higher reality, and lines drawn in this physical world are manifestations of the ideal forms existing in the realm of ideas. Therefore, the "ground" mentioned by Plato can be understood as the fundamental essence or principle that shapes the existence and nature of lines.

It highlights the idea that lines are not arbitrary or random, but rather have a deeper significance and connection to the underlying principles and truths of the universe.

What were Lao-Tzu's views on government?

Answers

Lao-Tzu's views on government emphasized the negative consequences of excessive governance, such as increased poverty, societal disorder, and the proliferation of criminal behavior.

Lao-Tzu, the ancient Chinese philosopher, and founder of Taoism, advocated for a minimalistic approach to governance. His views centered around the idea that an overly intrusive government, characterized by excessive restrictions, prohibitions, and an abundance of laws and enactments, had detrimental effects on society. Lao-Tzu believed that when the government imposed too many regulations and intervened excessively in people's lives, it led to the impoverishment of the population and the disruption of social harmony. He argued that a heavy-handed government created a climate of confusion and disorder, fostering an environment conducive to criminal activities.

Lao-Tzu's philosophy suggested that a wise ruler should govern with minimal interference, allowing individuals to live by the natural order of things. He believed in the importance of non-action (wu-wei) and the cultivation of inner virtue rather than relying on external regulations and control. Lao-Tzu's emphasis on a less intrusive government and the negative consequences of excessive governance resonated with the Taoist principles of simplicity, spontaneity, and harmony with nature.

The title of my selected film is Ozark Episode 1. The director of the film is Jason Bateman on July 21, 2017. No Ozark is not considered a classic. The technical feature in Ozark is suspense music in the background, also since there are negative things that are happening, I feel like the show environment comes off as dark, gloomy, and mischievous. There are a lot of technical side effects that happen in the show, like when people are getting shot it’s completely silent. Right before he was going to shoot one of the main characters the gunshot noise went on in the background and he had flashbacks of previous life but ended up not being shot. The genre of Ozark is drama, thriller, and crime films.
Marty is one of the main characters and has a business partner to launder money and his business partner steals from a dangerous client who is part of the cartel. The cartel finds out and ends up killing everyone besides Marty. He ends up giving Marty another chance and tells him to move to Ozark, while during that episode it was released that Bruce the business partner was going to rat on everyone to the FBI. The characters do have complex inner lives, the integrity of the audience is respected, and it can be related to recent times. A social issue that is addressed on the show is people being scared of the cartel and not wanting to tell the FBI about it. The use of sound and its side effects affects the viewer because it is always keeping them on their toes and wondering what is going to happen next.
The Ozark craft, at least in episode 1, is to keep the audience always on their toes. Also it presents a site to never lie to the cartel or steal from them. The point that it makes is they end up hurting the family that is closest to them, and also doing some brutal things. We learned something from the characters that some of them were going to betray friends and go behind their backs. The reviews that this show got were a 4.6. It says that this show was dark and gloomy but very well written, with all the plots outlines throughout the series. This show I thought was a Dionysian experience. I would recommend this show to others if they asked if I liked it, because it is unique and it always makes you feel like you want to watch another episode and it doesn’t get old.

Answers

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Ozark Episode 1. I agree with your analysis that the technical features, especially the use of suspenseful music, and the dark and gloomy environment contribute to the show's genre of drama, thriller, and crime films. I also appreciate how you pointed out the social issue of people being scared of the cartel and not wanting to report them to the FBI.

I have a question regarding your comment on the show's craft of keeping the audience always on their toes. Do you think that the use of sound effects, such as silence during shooting scenes, is a successful technique in achieving this goal?

Additionally, I wonder if you think that the show's unique and well-written plot outlines are the main reason for its positive reviews, or if there are other factors at play.

Overall, your post provided a clear and concise analysis of Ozark Episode 1 and highlighted its strengths in engaging the audience. I would suggest including more specific examples from the episode to support your points and enhance the reader's understanding of the show.

The evidence that I recognize is that social contract was a deal in which the people agreed to give up some less significant freedoms in exchange for the government defending their inalienable rights.

The reason why this evidence supports my answer is because, according to Locke, a government's main functions include advancing the common good and defending the lives, liberties, and property of its citizens. Write a 125+ word paragraph considering the three major economic blunders Warren Harding made during his
administration that helped set the wheels of depression in motion.

Answers

Answer: Hope this works... :)

Warren Harding's administration made three major economic blunders that ultimately contributed to the Great Depression. The first was the Fordney-McCumber Tariff Act, which raised import taxes on foreign goods to protect American industries. This resulted in a decrease in international trade and caused foreign countries to retaliate with their own tariffs, further reducing American exports. The second blunder was the Mellon Tax Bill, which cut taxes for the wealthy in the hopes of stimulating economic growth. However, this primarily benefited the wealthy and did little to boost consumer spending. Finally, the Federal Reserve's monetary policy under Harding contributed to an increase in the money supply, leading to inflation and the devaluation of the dollar. These policies combined with other factors, such as overproduction and uneven distribution of wealth, to set the wheels of the Great Depression in motion.
