At the western frontier of the ocean, basins are warm, mid-latitude, poleward-moving currents known as western boundary currents. Significant amounts of heat, nutrients, and carbon are transported by them to higher latitudes on a worldwide scale.

Cold water current known as the Falkland Current, Malvinas Current, or Falklands Current travels north along Patagonia's Atlantic coast to the mouth of the Rio de la Plata. Water from the West Wind Drift is what causes this stream to flow as it circles Cape Horn.

PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP THIS DUE TODAY AND NO ONE HELPING I SWEAR THE PEOPLE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS WERE TROLLING PLZI NEED THIS DONE!!!
TEXT: The first effect of the creation of the 13 colonies was that Britain grew very rich. Each colony now had productive farms and new towns growing as trading posts. Britain profited from these by taxation. Everything grown, bought or sold in the American Colonies was somehow taxed by Britain.

Another effect was the British Colonies became destinations for thousands of immigrants from England and elsewhere in Europe. Wealthy Europeans were eager to claim new land for plantations or make fortunes from trade in the new cities. Middle-class European farmers hoped they could get new farmland of their own. Many poor English and Scots-Irish settlers hoped they could find better lives in America working as indentured servants and hopefully purchasing land of their own someday.

Every new English colony was a new disaster for the Native Americans. The forests they hunted were cut down to make way for farms and plantations. More and more tribes became pushed off their land, either being cheated by false negotiations, or forced out with violence. When tribes fought back, the English settlers would retaliate harshly with gunfire and arson, burning entire villages to the ground. Worse still was the invisible killer that British settlers brought with them: diseases like smallpox and plague, which spread among native tribes quickly and for which they had no immunity or treatments. Sometimes, colonists would give infected blankets to natives to spread diseases on purpose. Ultimately for the native tribes, the effects of British settlement in America were tragic and irreversible. By the mid 1700s, most tribes had nearly vanished from the Atlantic coast.

The final effect of the British Colonies was the introduction of slavery to North America. The first kidnapped Africans in the American Colonies were brought to Jamestown as slaves to work in the new tobacco plantations. Slavery would spread throughout the new colonies, with cities as far north as New York being used as trading posts for slave auctions. Mainly however, slavery was much more concentrated in the southern colonies, which had large tobacco and rice plantations requiring many laborers. In the Southern Colonies, African people were simply considered property. Laws in Maryland only referred to Africans in terms of planters’ property rights. A Virginia law in 1642 punished people for hiding runaway slaves or indentured servants. Free blacks were eventually permitted to live and own property in northern colonies, and slavery in the north slowly became outlawed. In the south, however, the plantation economies of the colonies depended almost completely on slave labor.

The hills provided steady ground for residence as well as a certain degree of protection from invasion from below. Palatine Hill, surrounded by the other six hills, is located just to the east of the island at the river ford, and traditionally is said to be home to the first Romans. SELECT ALL THAT APPLY. Cornelius is a registered Democrat and has been for several years. Based solely on his political affiliation, which is Cornelius most likely to support? Longer voting hours Extended periods of early voting Shorter voter registration periods O Voter ID laws

Answers

Cornelius, as a registered Democrat, is likely to support longer voting hours and extended early voting periods, while being less supportive of shorter voter registration periods and voter ID laws.

Based solely on Cornelius being a registered Democrat, it is likely that he would support:

- Longer voting hours: Democrats generally advocate for measures that increase accessibility to voting, including longer voting hours, to ensure that more people have the opportunity to cast their ballots.

- Extended periods of early voting: Democrats often support extending early voting periods to provide greater flexibility and accessibility for voters who may have scheduling constraints on Election Day.

Cornelius is less likely to support:

- Shorter voter registration periods: Democrats typically oppose measures that restrict voter registration periods, as they aim to encourage greater voter participation by ensuring ample time for eligible individuals to register to vote.

- Voter ID laws: Democrats often raise concerns that strict voter ID laws can disproportionately affect marginalized communities and potentially limit access to voting, so Cornelius is less likely to support such laws.

Answers

Human threats to endangered species are diverse and significant, posing a serious risk to their survival.

a) Introduction:

Endangered species face a multitude of human threats that jeopardize their survival and contribute to their declining populations. These threats are predominantly caused by human activities that result in habitat loss, pollution, illegal wildlife trade, and climate change. Understanding the impact of these human threats is crucial for implementing effective conservation measures and safeguarding endangered species.

b) Main Facts and Supportive Sentences:

Habitat Loss: Human activities such as deforestation, urbanization, and agricultural expansion destroy the natural habitats of endangered species. This loss of habitat deprives them of crucial resources and disrupts their ecological balance, pushing them closer to extinction.Pollution: Pollution, including air, water, and soil pollution, poses a significant threat to endangered species. Toxic chemicals, industrial waste, and improper disposal contaminate their habitats and food sources, leading to detrimental health effects and reduced reproductive success.Illegal Wildlife Trade: The illegal wildlife trade is a lucrative market that drives the poaching and trafficking of endangered species. Demand for products derived from these species, such as ivory and exotic pets, fuels this trade, causing population declines and putting immense pressure on their survival.Climate Change: The changing climate is a pressing threat to endangered species. Rising temperatures, altered rainfall patterns, and habitat disruptions challenge their ability to adapt and survive. Endangered species with specific habitat and climate requirements are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.

c) Conclusion:

The human threats faced by endangered species, including habitat loss, pollution, illegal wildlife trade, and climate change, pose severe challenges to their survival. Recognizing the detrimental impact of these threats is crucial for developing comprehensive conservation strategies and implementing measures to mitigate human-induced pressures. The corrupt bargain was the term used by Jackson's supporters to refer to the fact that ______.

Answers

The term "corrupt bargain" was used by Andrew Jackson's supporters to refer to the outcome of the 1824 United States presidential election, in which he failed to secure majority.

In that election, Andrew Jackson won the popular vote but failed to secure a majority of electoral votes needed to be elected president. As per the Constitution, the decision then went to the House of Representatives to determine the winner among the top three candidates.

The "corrupt bargain" refers to the alleged political maneuvering that occurred during this process. Henry Clay, one of the candidates who did not make it to the final round, used his influence as the Speaker of the House to support John Quincy Adams, who eventually won the presidency. It is believed that Clay and Adams made a behind-the-scenes arrangement in which Clay would support Adams in exchange for a position in his administration.

Jackson's supporters felt that this arrangement was a betrayal of the democratic principles and accused Adams and Clay of striking a corrupt deal to deny Jackson the presidency, despite him winning the popular vote. This perception fueled Jackson's subsequent political campaigns, as he sought to portray himself as a champion of the people against the alleged corrupt political establishment.

What were the benefits of a plow and seed drill

Answer:

The benefits of a plow and seed drill is explained below in details.

Explanation:

The seed drill plants the seeds at the conventional seeding speed and bottom, assuring that the seeds are coated by soil. This protects them from being consumed by birds and animals or being drained up due to exposure to the sun.

The steel plows discarded the soil as the plow carved through it, rather than accumulating it on the board. The steel plow is also polished by the grinding change of the soil, preventing it from cleaner and sharper.

Answers

The motive that is considered not selfish according to Daniel Batson's theory about the motives that produce altruistic action is empathy.

Batson's empathy-altruism hypothesis suggests that empathy plays a crucial role in motivating altruistic behavior. According to this theory, when individuals feel empathy towards others, they are more likely to engage in selfless acts to alleviate the other person's distress or promote their well-being, without expecting any personal gain or benefit in return.

In contrast, other motives proposed by Batson, such as egoistic motives (e.g., gaining social approval, avoiding guilt) and personal distress (e.g., reducing one's own discomfort), are considered more self-centered and may involve a level of self-interest or potential benefits for the individual.

Therefore, empathy is the motive that stands out as being genuinely selfless in Batson's theory, as it involves genuinely caring about others' welfare and taking actions to help them, regardless of personal gain or self-interest.
