Answer 1

Answer:

I would choose the Aztecs because the Aztecs were known for their agricultural achievements, which included farming all accessible land, establishing irrigation, clearing marshes, and constructing artificial islands in lakes. They invented hieroglyphic writing, devised a complicated calendar system, and constructed world-famous pyramids and temples. The empire had nearly 6 million people which would mean it was somewhat like a city today, full of people to meet and make friends with. Because of the Olmec influence, I know it is a very advanced empire for its time. Even tho some of the religions involved human sacrifice, not all did which makes the civilization open to having other religions

the reason I didn't choose the other two civilizations is that the Incas were very separated due to ethnic reasons. meaning they could work out the problem. they also have human sacrifice as a part of their religion, which goes against all my morals so I definitely wouldn't be comfortable living there. the Incas also had very strict social classes which was never a good sign because, they will treat people in the lower class very poorly and give all the goods to the people in the higher class meaning there is little to nothing left for the people in the lower class to afford, buy, eat, and more. The Mayans didn't reach my expectations because there were only 2 million people in the empire which is still a lot but it is still very little compared to 6 million. The Mayans also had human sacrifice and blood-letting as a part of their religion which again is not ethical to me.

According to some theories and popular beliefs, Inca civilization are way better than other civilization like Aztec and Maya.

The Incas were always the greatest, even though they did not follow the Aztecs' savage cannibalistic traditions.

They are well-known for their ability to adapt to the environment in which they lived.

What is a civilization?

Civilization  is a society or group of people or the process of achieving a higher state of social development. An example of civilization is the Mesopotamian civilization.

The Incas have been the finest since they lacked the savage cannibalism of the Aztecs and Mayans, Inca didn't do anything at all to offend the Spanish, and they were amazing in how they adapted to their surroundings.

In the courtship of Gawain and the Lady of the winter castle (stanza 59-64) how many kisses does Gawain get from the Lady? (if you aren't sure, look at how many kisses he gives to the Lord of the winter castle in stanza 65).

Answers

Based on the text of the poem, it is most likely that Gawain did not receive any kisses from the Lady during their courtship scene.

How we read more on Courtship scene

Certainly! The courtship of Gawain and the Lady of the winter castle is a scene from the medieval poem "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight." In stanzas 59-64 of the poem, the Lady attempts to seduce Gawain while he is a guest in her castle during the winter.

The poem does not mention the exact number of kisses that Gawain receives from the Lady during this courtship scene.

However, in stanza 65, it is mentioned that Gawain gives the Lord of the winter castle three kisses before leaving the castle.

This implies that Gawain did not receive any kisses from the Lady during their courtship scene, as the poet would likely have mentioned it if he had.

Additionally, the fact that Gawain only kisses the Lord three times suggests that kissing was a significant gesture at that time, and that if Gawain had received any kisses from the Lady, it would have been mentioned in the poem.

Therefore, based on the text of the poem, it is most likely that Gawain did not receive any kisses from the Lady during their courtship scene.

What new technologies and impacts did it have ?

Answers

Answer:

hey!

When The Coca-Cola Company introduced New Coke in 1985, several cost structure changes accompanied the launch. Here are some of the key changes:

Formula and ingredients: New Coke required a modified formula and different ingredients compared to the original Coca-Cola. The company invested in research and development to create a new taste profile, which involved reformulating the beverage and adjusting the ingredient mix. These changes impacted the cost of production and sourcing of ingredients.

Production and manufacturing: The introduction of New Coke necessitated adjustments in the production and manufacturing processes. The company had to retool its production lines and adapt its bottling plants to accommodate the new product. This involved costs associated with reconfiguring machinery and production setup.

Marketing and promotion: Coca-Cola invested heavily in marketing and promotion for the launch of New Coke. The cost structure changed to accommodate advertising campaigns, packaging redesign, and other promotional activities aimed at introducing and promoting the new product to consumers.

In terms of new technologies and impacts, the launch of New Coke brought several notable changes:

The weather and climate of Earth are significantly influenced by the ocean. 70% of the world's surface is covered by the ocean.

This vast reservoir constantly exchanges heat, moisture, and carbon with the atmosphere, affecting our climate's slow, subtle shifts and dictating how our weather behaves.

The oceans affect climate by absorbing solar radiation, releasing heat required to drive atmospheric circulation, releasing aerosols that affect cloud cover, emitting the majority of the water that falls as rain on land, and absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it for a long period of time (millions of years to millions of years).

A large portion of the solar energy that strikes the globe is absorbed by the oceans, and because water has a high heat capacity, the oceans can slowly release heat over many months or years.

The ocean is essential to comprehending global climate change because it stores more heat in its top 3 metres (10 feet) than the entire atmosphere. Oceanic heat and carbon dioxide storage, which is influenced by both physical and biological processes, has an impact on climate.

Why did Columbia’s exchange lead to an increase in the demand for skilled labor in Europe

Answers

Answer:

The reference to "Columbia's exchange" likely pertains to the Columbian Exchange, which was the widespread exchange of goods, plants, animals, diseases, and ideas between the Eastern and Western hemispheres following Christopher Columbus's voyages in the late 15th century. If we consider the impact of the Columbian Exchange on Europe, it had several effects on the demand for skilled labor:

Introduction of New Crops: The exchange brought new crops from the Americas to Europe, such as potatoes, corn, and tomatoes. These crops required knowledge and skills for cultivation, harvesting, and processing. As a result, the demand for skilled agricultural workers increased to effectively grow and utilize these new crops.

Expansion of Trade: The Columbian Exchange facilitated the growth of global trade networks, leading to increased commerce and economic activity. This expansion created a greater demand for skilled labor in various sectors, including shipping, navigation, and commerce.

Development of Industries: The influx of new resources from the Americas, such as precious metals like gold and silver, spurred the development of industries in Europe. Skilled workers were needed to extract, process, and manufacture these resources, leading to increased demand for artisans, craftsmen, and technicians.

Technological Transfer: The exchange also brought new technologies and techniques to Europe. For example, the introduction of new agricultural methods, irrigation systems, and tools from the Americas required skilled workers to adopt and implement these innovations effectively.

Overall, the Columbian Exchange led to an increase in the demand for skilled labor in Europe due to the introduction of new crops, expansion of trade, development of industries, and the transfer of technologies. These factors created new opportunities and challenges that required skilled individuals to meet the changing demands of the time.

Answers

The policy initiated by Mao Zedong that discriminated against intellectuals, sent professionals to work in the mines, and encouraged children to turn in their parents was known as the "Cultural Revolution."

The Cultural Revolution was a sociopolitical movement in China that took place from 1966 to 1976, during Mao Zedong's leadership.

It aimed to renew the revolutionary spirit and eliminate capitalist and traditional elements within Chinese society. The policy targeted intellectuals, including teachers, writers, and artists, branding them as "bourgeois" and subjecting them to persecution, humiliation, and forced labor. Many intellectuals were sent to work in rural areas or labor camps, while schools and universities were shut down.

The Cultural Revolution sought to redefine Chinese society based on Maoist ideology and create a classless society by eliminating perceived "counter-revolutionary" elements. Mao believed that the intellectuals and professionals were promoting ideas and values that went against communist principles and hindered the progress of the revolution. As a result, they were labeled as "bourgeoisie" and subjected to intense discrimination. Many were publicly humiliated, physically abused, or even killed. The policy also encouraged a radical form of loyalty to Mao, with children encouraged to denounce their parents if they were suspected of disloyalty to the Communist Party or harboring "counter-revolutionary" thoughts. This led to a breakdown of family relationships and further instability within society.

Overall, the Cultural Revolution was a tumultuous period in China's history characterized by widespread social and political upheaval. Its policies, including the discrimination against intellectuals, forced labor, and encouraging children to turn against their parents, resulted in immense suffering, loss of life, and long-term negative effects on Chinese society and its intellectual development. The Cultural Revolution remains a significant and controversial chapter in China's history, influencing its political, social, and cultural landscape even to this day.

what was a major stumbling block to the policy of massive retaliation?

Answers

A major stumbling block to the policy of massive retaliation was the fear of escalation and the potential for nuclear war.

The policy of massive retaliation, also known as the doctrine of mutually assured destruction (MAD), was a cornerstone of U.S. Cold War strategy during the 1950s and early 1960s. It involved the threat of a massive and overwhelming nuclear response to any aggression against the United States or its allies. However, this policy faced significant challenges and limitations.

The fear of escalation and the potential for nuclear war was a major concern regarding the policy of massive retaliation. The use of nuclear weapons on a large scale could have catastrophic consequences, not only for the targeted nation but also for the entire world. The doctrine relied on the assumption that both sides would be deterred from initiating a nuclear conflict due to the fear of mutual destruction. However, there was always the risk of miscalculation, miscommunication, or accidental nuclear war, which posed a significant stumbling block to the policy. The potential for the situation to spiral out of control and lead to a global nuclear catastrophe made the doctrine of massive retaliation a controversial and risky approach to international security.

In summary, the fear of escalation and the potential for nuclear war were major stumbling blocks to the policy of massive retaliation. While the doctrine aimed to deter aggression through the threat of overwhelming nuclear force, the inherent risks and potential for catastrophic consequences raised concerns and limited the effectiveness of this approach. The policy relied on maintaining a delicate balance between deterrence and avoiding an accidental or unintended nuclear conflict.
