Write a story using these words : garden, dig, tree, plant, grow there must be a beginning middle and end.
Answer:
There once was a garden, a quiet place. The garden had a caretaker who had grown old. The garden once grew vibrant flowers and plump fruits, many years ago. In her youth, she was full of every color imaginable, though, with her caretaker's age, her colors had begun to fade many moons ago. All that was left was one large tree, an Oak. The old Oak had been there almost as long as the garden herself. If we go back several years, we'll see them all in their prime.
On a sunny day in the midst of July, a little squirrel went to dig up some acorns it had buried. The squirrel went to the garden and started to search. It searched and searched but still couldn't find one of its acorns. After a while, the squirrel gave up. The lost acorn sat beneath the dirt and began to sprout. The delicate roots started to grow as the little tree pushed through the top of the soil. At its beginning, the Oak looked like any other plant in the garden- small bright green leaves. The Oak grew and grew along with the rest of the garden. As time went on the tree got bigger, the caretaker got older and different flowers came and went with the months.
The garden flourished for years to come until the caretaker could no longer come. The caretaker stayed inside and the garden began to die. She was sorry for her caretaker, so she did her best to keep the life of her plants. But weeds poked through her once manicured ground and started to take over her plot. They strangled the flowers and fruits, all except the great Oaktree. Without her caretaker, the garden relied on rain, but one summer the skies refused to let some down. The garden's ground became hard and cracked beneath the barren skies. A month had passed and even the old Oaktree was weak, its leaves had begun to dry and fall, all until the rain came down. Pouring down the water rushed, over every crack and bush, the water soaked in through the ground. Alas, because her grounds were now soft and fertile again she fought to bring back her flowers. The garden gave all she could and gave her caretaker one last bunch. The flowers were delicate and fading fast, but they still carried so much color.
The end. :)

As you read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, either on your own or with a group, we invite you to
use these questions to add layers to your discussion or thinking about the novel. The first section
includes questions for each chapter of the novel; you will find questions reflecting on the book as
a whole at the end. We have not included specific pages numbers as various editions have
different page numbers, but the quotations are based on the 1831 edition of the novel.
Discussion Questions for Each Chapter
Letters I through IV
1. Frankenstein begins and ends with letters written by Robert Walton. Why do you think
that Mary Shelley chose to have him frame the novel? How would your opinions of
Victor Frankenstein and his creation differ if their story was told directly by Victor
Frankenstein himself? What if the story was told solely by the creation?
2. Walton yearns for a friend, much like Victor Frankenstein’s creature does. What does this
tell you about human nature? Is it in our nature to want companionship, someone to
confide in, and someone to care for?
3. In Letter IV, Walton writes, “Yesterday the stranger said to me, “You may easily
perceive, Captain Walton, that I have suffered great and unparalleled misfortunes. I had
determined at one time that the memory of these evils should die with me, but you have
won me to alter my determination. You seek for knowledge and wisdom, as I once did;
and I ardently hope that the gratification of your wishes may not be a serpent to sting you,
as mine has been. I do not know that the relation of my disasters will be useful to you;
yet, when I reflect that you are pursuing the same course, exposing yourself to the same
dangers which have rendered me what I am, I imagine that you may deduce an apt moral
from my tale, one that may direct you if you succeed in your undertaking and console
you in case of failure. Prepare to hear of occurrences which are usually deemed
marvelous.”
A. In the excerpt above, Victor is foreshadowing the creation of his monster and how
it went quickly awry. Are there any other instances of foreshadowing in these
letters?
B. In the excerpt above, the themes of knowledge and wisdom are introduced. Often,
knowledge and wisdom are seen as interchangeable, or as going hand-in-hand, but
are they necessarily the same. Pay attention to how knowledge and wisdom are
portrayed in the book.
4. Walton and Frankenstein are both men of science but in vastly different fields. What does
having two main characters in this field tell you about 1800s Europe? What does it tell
you about the gender roles of this time?

family/betrothed, Elizabeth Lavenza. How is their family dynamic representative of other
families in the 1800s?
2. Victor describes the first appearance of Elizabeth: “Her hair was the brightest living gold,
and despite the poverty of her clothing, seemed to set a crown of distinction on her head.

her face so expressive of sensibility and sweetness that none could behold her without

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States when he took office in 1861. At the beginning of the Civil War, Lincoln’s main goal was to bring the southern states back to the Union. Later, he became more determined to end slavery.
At first, Lincoln did not allow African Americans to join the Union Army. Lincoln worried that the border states, or the slave states that remained loyal to the Union, would leave the Union if he allowed this. In January of 1863, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, an order to free all of the slaves in the U.S. This order also allowed African Americans to serve in the Union Army.
Abraham Lincoln wanted to bring states back into the Union with as little disagreement as possible. In 1863, Lincoln proposed a plan that would easily allow states to rejoin to the Union. Many people opposed this plan because they strongly believed that the southern states should be punished for separating from the Union. Congress did not pass this plan. In 1864, Lincoln was re-elected as president. He was shot soon after he began his second term in April of 1865.
Passage 2
from Letter to A.G. Hodges, of Kentucky
by Abraham Lincoln
April 4, 1864
In March, May, and July, 1862, I asked the border states to accept compensated emancipation. In this plan, the government would pay slave owners for their slaves. The slaves would no longer be slaves and would be able to earn wages for themselves. The border states would not agree to this plan. Therefore, I decided to allow blacks to become Union soldiers. I was not confident that this was a good decision. I worried that the border states would leave the Union because of it. However, it has been a year since the decision was made, and the Union has not suffered any unfavorable effects. On the contrary, the nation has gained one hundred and thirty thousand soldiers, seamen, and workers.

The box office at a theater is selling for a series of rock concert. So far,they have sold 52 balcony tickets and 40 general admission floor tickets for friday's show for a total of $3,056 in receipts for saturday's show, 69 and 77 general admission floor tickets they have been sold, equaling $4,701 in receipts. How much does a ticket cost?
Answer:
Ok, Here is your aanswer
Explanation:
Let's assume the price of a balcony ticket is x dollars and the price of a general admission floor ticket is y dollars. We can use these assumptions to write two equations, one for each day's ticket sales.
For Friday's show:
52x + 40y = 3056
For Saturday's show:
69y + 77y = 4701
Simplifying the second equation, we get:
146y = 4701
y = 32.23
Substituting y = 32.23 into the first equation, we get:
52x + 40(32.23) = 3056
52x + 1289.2 = 3056
52x = 1766.8
x = 33.94
Therefore, a balcony ticket costs $33.94 and a general admission floor ticket costs $32.23.

A. The narrator wants readers to empathize with Prince Prospero.
B. The narrator thinks it is wise to quarantine people during a plague.
C. The narrator uses irony to suggest the prince is actually foolish.
D. The narrator is completely objective and unbiased.
Answer:
C. The narrator uses irony to suggest the prince is actually foolish.
Explanation:
The word "sagacious" implies having or demonstrating wise judgement, knowledge, and foresight. In this case, by characterizing Prince Prospero as being "sagacious," the narrator is utilizing irony to signify that the prince's choice to sequester himself and his followers within a fortress during a pestilence is actually ill-advised and lacks sensible judgement. This irony implies reproach concerning the prince's decisions and accentuates the narrator's critical view on the narrative's occurrences. Consequently, the narrator is not completely impartial and unprejudiced.
According to ________, people explain behavior by crediting either the situation or the person's disposition.
According to attribution theory, people explain behavior by crediting the situation or the person's disposition. Therefore, option D is correct.
This idea contends that how we feel about or judge other people has a significant impact on how we interpret and evaluate their behavior.
For instance, if you despise someone, whatever they do for you out of the ordinary would probably be interpreted as a plot to harm you. This occurred due to your bias when passing judgment on those people. If you assess the people you like, the exact reverse will happen. "Small Change: Why the Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted" by Malcolm Gladwell
What does Gladwell explain "strong-tie" phenomena in relation to past and current activism?
How does Shirky’s example of the Sidekick correlate to the point Gladwell is trying to make?
Is Gladwell completely disproving the idea that strong-ties cannot be created through social media?
Do you agree that social media makes it harder for an activist’s expression to have an impact? Why or why not?
Why did Gladwell not consider Sameer Bhatia’s story a story of activism?
In his essay “Small Change: Why the Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted,” Malcolm Gladwell claims that strong-ties, deep and meaningful connections between individuals, are necessary for effective activism.
He uses the example of Sidney Tarrow’s civil rights movement and the prominence of women’s suffrage as evidence that in-person connections are more stimulating and important than technological ones. Clay Shirky’s example of the Sidekick can also be used to emphasize Gladwell’s point that technological revolutions are not as successful as personal ones.
Shirky gives an example of how the Sidekick’s users wrote letters and organized rallies when the gadget was having issue, rather than exclusively using online platforms as a method to voice their discontent. Gladwell thus argues that creating a robust strong-tie network is challenging through social media, since it does not require the same level of sustained engagement as offline activism.
Considering this, it does appear that social media might not be the most effective tool for activist expression to have an impact. With limited messages and attention spans online, activists may be unable to construct the type of ties they need to enact social change.

The Navajo Sandstone was primarily deposited in a desert environment. This is evidenced by the presence of extensive dune fields and cross-bedding in the rock layers.
The sandstone was likely formed by the accumulation of wind-blown sand in a dry, arid climate. This type of depositional environment is also known as an erg. It is important to note that while the environment was responsible for the formation of the Navajo Sandstone, human activity can also have an impact on the environment.
