There were 4 MAIN causes of World War One they were Militarism, Nationalism, Imperialism, and Alliances. Militarism is when the government will maintain a strong military capability and will be aggressive to defend from attackers. Nationalism is when people of a country will stay strong with the culture of that country.

Answer:

Explanation:

The real causes of World War I included politics, secret alliances, imperialism, and nationalistic pride. However, there was one single event, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria, which started a chain of events leading to war.

Alliances and Politics

. Germany made an alliance with Austria-Hungary and Italy in 1881. These countries all agreed to protect each other in the event they were attacked by France.  Italy then went and made a secret alliance with France saying they would not aide Germany. In response to Germany's alliances, France and Russia established an alliance in 1892. In 1904, Britain and France signed an agreement. The Triple Entente was formed between France, Britain, and Russia in 1907. Germany felt that this powerful alliance surrounding them posed a real threat to their existence and power in the region.

Imperialism

Imperialism is when a country expands its influence and power into a large empire. Some European countries, such as France and Britain, had created large worldwide empires and had become very rich. Other European countries, such as Russia and Germany, wanted to create their own vast empires. This caused competition and conflict between many of the countries throughout the world.

Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand

On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, was assassinated in Sarajevo. The Austria government believed that the assassination was organized by the Serbian government. They also saw this as an opportunity to regain control of Serbia.

how did the focus on expansion impact u.s. policy towards native americans in the late 1800s and early 1900s?

Answers

In quest of land and better opportunities, many Americans moved to the West and the South. American history was formed by the expansionist mentality.

Numerous Native American tribes were driven off their home lands and forced to live on reservations elsewhere as a result of the 19th century's voracious expansion policy. Native Americans who lived in many of the territories that would eventually become states witnessed multiple times how the invasion of settlers diminished the size of their countries, and they very rarely received fair compensation. As part of American territory expansion, it gave the justification for displacing Native Americans and other ethnic groups from their homes throughout the 19th century.  As new states were joined to the Union as a result of the United States' fast growth and the Civil War broke out, the problem of slavery grew more serious.

How did the Geographic obstacles on the trail affect the way that emigrants had to interact with their environment? In a well- written response provide specific details about the trail, rivers, mountains, valleys, plains, and EXPLAIN how these geographic features affected the travelers.

Answers

The geographic obstacles encountered on the trail during westward expansion in the United States had a profound impact on the way emigrants had to interact with their environment.

These obstacles included rivers, mountains, valleys, plains, and other challenging terrains. Here is an overview of how these features influenced the experiences of travelers:

Rivers: Emigrants often encountered numerous rivers during their journey, such as the Missouri River, the Platte River, and the Snake River. These rivers posed significant challenges as they needed to be crossed. Travelers had to navigate treacherous currents, construct makeshift rafts or ferries, or find shallow points to ford the rivers. River crossings could be time-consuming, physically demanding, and even dangerous, as accidents and drownings were not uncommon.

Mountains: The emigrants had to traverse several mountain ranges, including the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada. Crossing mountains was an arduous task, requiring steep ascents, treacherous descents, and the negotiation of narrow passes. Travelers had to contend with rugged terrain, unpredictable weather, and the need for adequate provisions and equipment. Mountainous regions often posed significant obstacles, forcing emigrants to take longer and more challenging routes or seek the guidance of experienced guides.

Valleys: Valleys provided relatively easier passage compared to mountains, but they still presented their own challenges. Emigrants had to navigate through narrow valleys, which could be prone to flash floods or impassable during certain seasons. They had to carefully select routes that avoided hazards and provided access to water sources and adequate grazing for their livestock.

Plains: The vast plains, such as the Great Plains, offered both advantages and difficulties. On one hand, the flat terrain facilitated easier travel and allowed for the movement of large wagon trains. However, the lack of natural water sources and the scarcity of trees or shade posed challenges. Emigrants had to plan their journeys carefully, ensuring they had enough water, food, and provisions to sustain themselves and their livestock over long stretches of open land.

These geographic features influenced the interactions of travelers with their environment in numerous ways. They had to adapt their travel strategies, such as altering routes, timing river crossings, and selecting appropriate campsites. They relied on their knowledge of the land and received guidance from experienced guides or indigenous peoples. They also had to make use of available resources, such as forage for their livestock, find water sources, and take precautions to minimize risks and hardships.

In conclusion, the varied geographic features encountered on the trail significantly affected the way emigrants interacted with their environment. The challenges posed by rivers, mountains, valleys, and plains required careful planning, physical exertion, resourcefulness, and adaptability from the travelers as they made their way westward during the era of westward expansion.

How was Nicholas Winton organized a rescue operation?

Prior to the start of World War II, Nicholas Winton orchestrated a rescue mission that took 669 children, largely Jewish, from Czechoslovakia to safety in Great Britain. As a member of the British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia, Winton's friend and teaching teacher at the Westminster School in London, Martin Blake, requested Winton to cancel his scheduled ski trip in order to see him in Czechoslovakia in December 1938.

In accordance with the conditions of the Munich Pact, this committee was founded in October 1938 to help refugees resulting from the German annexation of the Sudeten lands. Winton chose to travel because he was sure that a war in Europe was about to break out. In Prague, Blake met Winton's colleague Doreen Wariner and arranged for him to see refugee camps that were teeming with Jews and Sudetenland political opponents.

Explain why William Rufus was
able to defeat the rebellion of
1088.
You may use the following in your
answer:
• Bishop Odo
• the Church in England.
You must also use information of
your own.
12 marks

Answers

Answer: One way in which William Rufus defeated the 1088 rebellion was because of his tactics. Firstly he managed to effectively ‘buy off’ many Norman barons in Eastern Normandy. He did this by raising an army of his knights in England and demanding the money from their knight service rather than take them to Normandy. He then used this money to bribe Normans to not support his brother, Robert Curthose. This would have caused the rebellion to fail as it would starve Odo and Robert of vital military support therefore weakening them and reducing their numbers.  Another example of William’s tactics was his promise to his English subjects that he would restore many Anglo-Saxon laws. He promised lower taxes and an end to many of the hated ‘forest laws’. This would have helped weaken the rebellion as it would given support to William’s cause. Many would have joined local militias to fight off the rebels as they would have wanted William to stay in power to end these hated Norman laws.  A final example of this was his six week siege of Pevensey Castle. This is where Odo and Robert of Mortain were based and William managed to surround the castle and starve them of supplies. This would have weakened the rebellion, as it was huge defeat for them and led to the capture of two of its leaders (Odo and Robert of Mortain).  This victory would have boosted William’s popularity in England and would have made many nobles less likely to rebel against him as it looked as if his victory was inevitable.

Another way in which he defeated the rebellion was because of his support within the Church. William had been accepted as his father’s successor by Archbishop Lanfranc and was coronated by him without the authorisation of the Witan. This would have caused the rebellion to weaken as Lanfranc had so much power that many would have feared fighting against a king with the backing of God. By fighting William they could potentially be excommunicated from the Church – this fear would have stopped many joining Odo therefore weakening it. Another example of this support can be seen in the west, when Roger de Lacy and Roger de Montgomery were defeated by a holy army raised by Bishop Wulfstan. This would have caused the rebellion to fail as it prevented these forces on the Marcher borders from joining with those in Norwich, Somerset and Wiltshire.

A final way in which the rebellion was defeated was because William captured and exiled Odo. As various rebellions were being crushed, Odo and his brother Robert held up at Pevsensey castle. After being captured there, Odo escaped to Rochester Castle where he held out hoping that Robert Curthose would arrive from Normandy with an army. Odo was effectively abandoned by Robert and was forced to surrender due to lack of supplies and the threat of disease. He was then stripped of his lands, titles and exiled. This would have resulted in the rebellion failing as it left the rebels without a leader or any structure. It was a symbol that William had been victorious and many rebels would have lost any hope to keep fighting.

Out of the four religions mentioned, Hinduism is considered to have developed the latest in history. Hinduism is an ancient religion that has evolved over thousands of years. The early forms of Hinduism were based on the Vedas, which were written around 1500 BCE. However, over time, Hinduism has incorporated beliefs and practices from other religions, such as Buddhism and Jainism, which were developed later in history. Answers

Answer:

The closing of the Second National Bank in 1836 had several effects on the United States economy. One immediate effect was that it caused a shortage of currency, as many of the bank notes in circulation were issued by the bank and were no longer valid. This led to an increase in the use of state-chartered banks and private banks, which issued their own currency. This caused confusion and instability in the monetary system and led to inflation. Additionally, the lack of a national bank made it more difficult for the government to manage its finances and led to a financial crisis in 1837. In the long term, the closing of the Second National Bank weakened the federal government's ability to regulate the economy and contributed to the financial instability in the years leading up to the Civil War.
