Bolsheviks were part of the Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party, which had a different ideology based on Karl Marx and believed in revolution. The Bolsheviks came to power in Russia in 1917 after the overthrow of the Provisional government and the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II.
