The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. —Fifteenth Amendment Which democratic principle most influenced the Fifteenth Amendment? A. due process B. majority rule C. economic rights D. natural rights

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Option B, majority rule, is the right answer.

Explanation:

The Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is very significant in the history of the United States. It was the amendment that prohibited all the governing bodies at the federal and the state level from denying the right to vote to a citizen on the basis of their "color, race or their previous condition of servitude".

The Fifteenth Amendment was an amendment that granted the right to vote to the African-American men. However, unfair practices were employed to prevent blacks from practicing their right to vote, in the later phase of the  1870's. Moreover, the African-Americans could only exercise their right to vote after the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Therefore, it may be said that this amendment influenced the majority rule democratic principle.

1. Ancient Egypt: The civilization of Ancient Egypt emerged around 3100 BC and lasted until 30 BC when it was conquered by Rome. It is known for its impressive monuments like the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Temple of Karnak. The Egyptians were also famous for their hieroglyphic writing system, which is one of the oldest in the world.

2. Pharaohs: The Ancient Egyptians were ruled by a series of pharaohs, who were considered to be divine kings. Some of the most famous pharaohs include King Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Cleopatra.

3. Religion: The Ancient Egyptians had a complex polytheistic religion that included many gods and goddesses. They believed in an afterlife and spent a great deal of time and resources preparing for it.

4. Greek and Roman Rule: After the conquest of Egypt by Alexander the Great in 332 BC, Egypt came under Greek rule. Later, it was conquered by Rome in 30 BC and became a Roman province.

5. Islamic Conquest: In 641 AD, Arab Muslims conquered Egypt and brought Islam to the region. Egypt became a center of Islamic learning and scholarship.

6. Ottoman Rule: Egypt was ruled by the Ottoman Empire from 1517 to 1798 when Napoleon Bonaparte invaded Egypt. The French occupation was brief, and Egypt was returned to Ottoman rule.

7. British Occupation: In 1882, Egypt was occupied by British forces and remained under British rule until 1952 when it gained independence.

8. Modern Egypt: Since gaining independence, Egypt has had a turbulent history marked by political instability, economic challenges, and social unrest. Despite these challenges, Egypt remains an important cultural and historical center in the world.

Answer:

Hie..! Here's the answer

Egypt, country located in the northeastern corner of Africa. Egypt’s heartland, the Nile River valley and delta, was the home of one of the principal civilizations of the ancient Middle East and, like Mesopotamia farther east, was the site of one of the world’s earliest urban and literate societies. Pharaonic Egypt thrived for some 3,000 years through a series of native dynasties that were interspersed with brief periods of foreign rule. After Alexander the Great conquered the region in 323 BCE, urban Egypt became an integral part of the Hellenistic world. Under the Greek Ptolemaic dynasty, an advanced literate society thrived in the city of Alexandria, but what is now Egypt was conquered by the Romans in 30 BCE. It remained part of the Roman Republic and Empire and then part of Rome’s successor state, the Byzantine Empire, until its conquest by Arab Muslim armies in 639–642 CE.

Until the Muslim conquest, great continuity had typified Egyptian rural life. Despite the incongruent ethnicity of successive ruling groups and the cosmopolitan nature of Egypt’s larger urban centres, the language and culture of the rural, agrarian masses—whose lives were largely measured by the annual rise and fall of the Nile River, with its annual inundation—had changed only marginally throughout the centuries. Following the conquests, both urban and rural culture began to adopt elements of Arab culture, and an Arabic vernacular eventually replaced the Egyptian language as the common means of spoken discourse. Moreover, since that time, Egypt’s history has been part of the broader Islamic world, and though Egyptians continued to be ruled by foreign elite—whether Arab, Kurdish, Circassian, or Turkish—the country’s cultural milieu remained predominantly Arab.

Read the following selection introducing the Popsicle.

Frozen treats have existed for centuries. But none of them had a stick handle until 1905. That's the year when Frank Epperson, an 11-year-old boy from California, mixed a fruit-flavored soda powder with water in a glass. He stirred it with a wooden stick and took it out onto the porch. He drank only a few sips before he set it down and forgot it. The weather turned cold, and the next morning, he discovered his flavored drink was frozen solid with the stick in it. He pulled the stick out of the glass and licked the ice attached to it. Yum!

What Caused The Civil War Essay

The American Civil War was the war that ended slavery. The civil war was known as one of the bloodiest and deadliest conflicts the United States had ever seen. The loss of life was an estimated amount of 620,000 men. It lasted four years, from April 12, 1861, through May 9, 1865. However, while slavery was a major cause of the American Civil War, there were several other major factors.

One of the several factors that helped cause the Civil War was the economy at the time. While the economy wasn’t in bad shape, the North and South were different and had very different views and ideas about their futures. The Northern area couldn't have huge farms like the South. However, they were very diverse in the items they wanted to produce. So they became more focused on industry. Items like cotton, wool, pig iron, weapons, furniture, and other important items were being produced at a faster rate than the south. "By 1860, 90 percent of the nation's manufacturing output came from the northern states” (Industry and Economy during the Civil War) The need for slaves in the north had reduced drastically. Slavery wasn't needed in the North as much as it was in the south.

Another major factor that led to the Civil war was the social status and views at the time. The North and South had very different social views. In the North, while a good amount of the people owned slaves, many of them began to see it as wrong and inhumane. They also began to believe that they no longer needed slaves to do work for them and that the slaves should have freedom, as well as their own rights. But even with the North beginning to want to change things, slaves were still not treated like human beings most of the time. Most were left unfed and if they disobeyed orders they were whipped and cruelly beaten. However, the most of the South didn't see slavery as inhumane. To them slavery was needed, slaves were needed to help farm, as well as make profit for their owners.
