But if we are to adopt the average diet in the United States, we still need an extra 38% of land to use even if we convert all of our habitable lands to agriculture. Therefore, if we are to consider what agricultural lands produce and the stocks we consume, our lands dedicated to agriculture are not enough to supply our needs. If there are free lands in the country; using them in increasing the number of lands for agriculture is a better option than dedicating them to national parks. Expanding and protecting agricultural lands, will enable long-term food security and provides essential environmental benefits to people which are a prime concern during this time that we are not sure of what tomorrow has to offer
