Malcolm X

BiographyMay 19, 1925 to February 21, 1965

Explanation:

By the late 1950s, Malcolm had become the NOI’s leading spokesman.

Although Malcolm rejected King’s message of nonviolence, he respected King as a “fellow-leader of our people,” sending King NOI articles as early as 1957 and inviting him to participate in mass meetings throughout the early 1960s (Papers 5:491). Although Malcolm was particularly interested that King hear Elijah Muhammad’s message, he also sought to create an open forum for black leaders to explore solutions to the “race problem” (Malcolm X, 31 July 1963). King never accepted Malcolm’s invitations, however, leaving communication with him to his secretary, Maude Ballou.

Despite his repeated overtures to King, Malcolm did not refrain from criticizing him publicly. “The only revolution in which the goal is loving your enemy,” Malcolm told an audience in 1963, “is the Negro revolution … That’s no revolution” (Malcolm X, “Message to the Grassroots,” 9).

However, it's important to note that China has made efforts to open up its economy to the world in recent decades, resulting in significant growth and increased international trade. China's economic growth has been driven by various factors, including government policies, infrastructure development, and a large domestic market. While isolation can have negative consequences, China's approach has shifted towards greater integration with the global economy, which has been beneficial for its economic development.

why does the president need to be a natural born citizen

Answers

Answer: The only reason they put that in the constitution is because there was one person that came here from England and they didnt like him and didn't want him to be president so thats why they made that rule

Explanation:

Answer: The president most likely needs to be a natural born citizen because it means that they will be loyal to their country and being president can also mean representing the country. Since the president can represent a country, it would be more reasonable for them to be naturally born in that certain country rather than them being a naturally born citizen in another country. Being a natural born citizen can also mean that the individual will most likely stay loyal for their country and do whatever is best for the people too.

Answers

The first inhabitants of the Americas arrived via a land bridge that connected Siberia and Alaska during the last ice age.

Over 13,000 years ago, who was the first to migrate to the Americas?

Myself and other archaeology students in the 1970s discovered that the first humans to reach North America did so roughly 13,000 to 13,500 years ago, crossing a land bridge between Asia and Siberia. The Clovis people were referred to as the first inhabitants of North America.

How do archaeologists explain how the continent's initial inhabitants arrived?

The widely accepted account of how the first people arrived in the Americas went something like this for more than fifty years: Small groups of Stone Age hunters crossed a land bridge between western Alaska and eastern Siberia around 13,000 years ago, gradually moving down an ice-free inland channel.

Answers

The British government responded to the Boston Tea Party, a protest by American settlers against British financial policies in 1774, with a series of laws known as coercive or intolerable laws.

The act closed Boston Harbor until compensation for the tea destroyed at the Boston Tea Party was paid to the East India Company. This effectively paralyzed Boston's economy and commerce, causing economic hardship for the city and its residents.

This law severely restricted the autonomy of Massachusetts. This revoked the colonial charter, which recognized certain rights and privileges, and restricted community gatherings. Greater power was also given to the British Governor-General and appointed councils, reducing the influence of elected officials.

What is S. James Anaya's purpose in investigating the state of indigenous people's rights in the United States?

Answers

S. James Anaya is a renowned scholar and his primary purpose in investigating the state of indigenous people's rights in the United States was to assess the extent to which the US government was fulfilling its obligations to respect, protect, and fulfill the rights of indigenous peoples under international law.

Anaya's investigation focused on a range of issues affecting indigenous communities in the United States, including land rights, political representation, cultural rights, and access to education, health care, and other essential services. He sought to identify the barriers that indigenous peoples face in exercising their rights and to make recommendations for how the US government could better protect and promote these rights.

One of the key goals of Anaya's investigation was to raise awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by indigenous communities in the US and to call for action to address these issues. By documenting the human rights abuses and systemic discrimination experienced by indigenous peoples, Anaya aimed to hold the US government accountable for its obligations under international law and to push for meaningful changes in policy and practice.

Ultimately, Anaya's purpose was to promote greater recognition and respect for the rights of indigenous peoples in the United States and around the world.

Answers

In my opinion, the reason for the decision to use atomic bombs was to bring the war to a quick end and avoid the need for a costly invasion of Japan. The U.S. government believed that an invasion of Japan would result in heavy casualties on both sides, and could drag on for months or even years. President Harry S. Truman, who made the final decision to use the bombs, argued that the use of atomic weapons would save lives in the long run by ending the war quickly. However, there were other options available to the U.S. government at the time. One alternative was to continue the conventional bombing campaign against Japan, which was already causing significant damage to Japanese cities and infrastructure. Another option was to negotiate a surrender with Japan, which had already been weakened by the war and was facing a dire situation. However, the Japanese government was reluctant to surrender unconditionally, and it was not clear whether a negotiated settlement could be reached.

1. Nationalism is an ideology that emphasizes loyalty, devotion, or allegiance to a nation or nation-state and holds that such obligations outweigh other individual or group interests. Canadian nationalism seeks to promote the unity, independence, and well-being of Canada and the Canadian people. Canadian nationalism has been a significant political force since the 19th century and has typically manifested itself as seeking to advance Canada's independence from the influence of the United Kingdom and the United States.

2. Canadian identity refers to the unique culture, characteristics, and condition of being Canadian, as well as the many symbols and expressions that set Canada and Canadians apart from other peoples and cultures of the world. Most notions of Canadian identity have shifted between the ideas of unity and plurality. They have emphasized either a vision of “one” Canada or a nation of “many” Canadas. A more recent view of Canadian identity sees it as marked by a combination of both unity and plurality.

Answer:

While it seemed to me that any one of these could be the location for the “Lost City of Atlantis”,

I found the information on the South China Sea to be the most compelling, so I feel this is the  best candidate for the location for the following reasons:

1. The Atlantic Ocean was given its name because it is considered to be the “Ocean of the  Atlanteans” by Plato – who also believed that Atlantis was located in this ocean. Because  of this, any location outside of the Atlantic Ocean, including Santorini/Thera, could not  be the location – though at this point, Cuba is still in the running (www.atlan.org, n.d.).

2. Plato’s description of Atlantis spoke of the large network of canals at the city’s location.   He also spoke of the city as a naval power with multiple ships used for trading to other  countries.

a. Due to the small size of their naval forces at the time, Atlantis could not be  located in the Canaries or in Northwest Africa.

b. The Incas of Peru, while they had a strong naval fleet, they also had very little  water, which eliminates them from the list of possible locations (www.atlan.org,  n.d.).

3. Plato spoke of Atlantic being the home of two specific crops – rice and wheat or barley –  grows abundantly in the Far East. These crops are supported by a tropical climate and an  annual monsoon – much like we see in Asia today (Prassanan, n.d.).

4. Plato spoke of Atlantic having a large population, which knocks most proposed locations,  including Europe, North America, North Africa and the Near East, out of the running.   While the exact population of the Far East is difficult to estimate, it is estimated that Asia  produced between 10 and 20 million tons of rice each year, which could easily feed a  population of 15-30 million people (www.atlan.org, n.d.).

5. Plato believed that elephants were present on Atlantis. Elephants were found in great  numbers in South Asia. They did not exist during the later date of the theory that asserts  Thera as the location (www.atlan.org, n.d.).  While none of these reasons eliminate all other possibilities, leaving the South China Sea as the  only option, they do collectively eliminate the other locations and support this as the location of  the Lost City of Atlantis.
