Answers

Answer 1

The correct statements about all stars are:

Stars spend the majority of their existence fusing H to He.Nuclear fusion prevents a star from collapsing upon itself by balancing out gravity.All stars are born in a cloud of dust and gas called a nebula.

What are stars?

Stars are massive, luminous balls of plasma held together by their own gravity. They are the fundamental building blocks of galaxies and the basic objects of study in astronomy. The energy of stars is produced by the process of nuclear fusion, in which atoms are fused together to create heavier atoms and release energy in the process.

The vast majority of a star's life is spent in a state of equilibrium, in which the force of gravity pulling the star inward is balanced by the pressure from the fusion reactions in its core. Different types of stars exist, with varying masses, temperatures, luminosities, and lifetimes, and they play a critical role in shaping the Universe as we know it.

The minute hand on a watch is 3. 00 cm in length. Assume the origin of the xy -plane is at the center of the clock face, the x -axis points in the same direction as the minute hand at 8:15 a. M. , and the y -axis points in the same direction as the minute hand at 8:00 a. M

Answers

To determine the position of the minute hand at 8:15 a.m., we can use the following approach:

Convert the time to radians: At 8:15 a.m., the minute hand is 75% of the way from the 8:00 a.m. mark to the 9:00 a.m. mark. Since the minute hand travels 360 degrees in 60 minutes, it travels 6 degrees per minute. Therefore, at 8:15 a.m., it has traveled 90 degrees from the 8:00 a.m. mark. This is equivalent to (90/360) x 2π radians = π/2 radians. Use trigonometry to determine the position: Since the minute hand is 3.00 cm long and pointing in the direction of the positive x-axis at 8:15 a.m., its position can be described by the coordinates (3.00 cos(π/2), 3.00 sin(π/2)) = (0, 3.00). Therefore, the minute hand is pointing straight up at 8:15 a.m. Note that the x-axis points in the same direction as the minute hand at 8:15 a.m., while the y-axis points in the same direction as the minute hand at 8:00 a.m. This means that the x-axis is perpendicular to the minute hand at 8:00 a.m., and the y-axis is perpendicular to the minute hand at 8:15 a.m.

Pretty long so read if you will:

I'm pretty late to this but oh well. Well to start why are people homophobic in the first place? You might not understand as well but that is because me and you are growing up at a time and place where people are encouraged to be themselves and we're embracing people that are different than what is considered normal. Gay marriage was legalized literally in the US in 2015, 5 years ago. I come from Malaysia, one of the few countries where it's illegal to be gay and can cause a death penalty from what I've seen. Obviously I grew up in a place where gay and whatnot were a joke and is wrong. But we moved and I came to the US and my beliefs changes, it also helped that I was literally only 11 so I was more easier to change than adults. Majority of the world honestly, are not as open to the lgbtq+ community as a person in America might think. The belief that it's only a women and men probably stems from the fact that it's how u make babies. And if we know anything, society doesn't like things that are different. To stop people being homophobic you have to stop people from spreading the belief that it's wrong to be gay or bi. This is going to be hard and people really overestimate the world when it comes to change. Peoples belief won't be changed so quick just, change doesn't happen quick. It's going to be a long time and maybe even never, look at racism. We all exist together for so long but there's still racism though much less compared to back then. As long as people stop teaching that next generation, us, that being lgbtq+ is bad, it will decrease but it will take a long time. And as much as I agree we need it to be now, it won't and trying to force something will only cause more backlash. Just try to inform the people around you and understand change does not happen fast, it's slow, especially if it you want it to be permanent.

how much boiling water at 100 ∘c must you add to this beaker so that the final temperature of the mixture will be 75.5 ∘c ?

Answers

To achieve a final temperature of 75.5°C, you need to add an appropriate amount of boiling water at 100°C to the beaker.

How much boiling water should be added to reach a final temperature of 75.5°C?

To determine the amount of boiling water needed to achieve a final temperature of 75.5°C, several factors come into play. The specific heat capacities and initial temperatures of both the beaker and the boiling water must be considered. Additionally, the volume of the beaker and the desired final temperature play a crucial role.

The process involves transferring heat from the boiling water to the beaker until thermal equilibrium is reached. The heat gained by the beaker is given by the equation Q = mcΔT, where Q represents heat, m denotes mass, c represents the specific heat capacity, and ΔT represents the change in temperature.

By manipulating this equation and considering the conservation of energy, we can calculate the mass of the boiling water required. Once the mass is determined, it can be converted to volume using the density of water.

In a tanning bed, exposure to photons of wavelength 300 nm, the lowest energy of such photons will be 4.136 eV .

There is a wavelength and a frequency for each photon. The frequency is characterized as the distance between two pinnacles of the electric field with a similar vector. The number of wavelengths that a photon travels through in a second is what is referred to as its frequency. Not at all like an electromagnetic wave, a photon can't really be of a variety.

Given wavelength = 300 nm

so, let the energy of the photons is E

                    E = h × c/(wavelength × e)

E = 6.626 ×10⁻³⁴ × 3 × 10⁸/(300 × 10⁻⁹ × 1.602 × 10⁻¹⁹)

                              E = 4.136 eV

Hence , the lowest energy of such photons is 4.136 eV

How are photons connected with frequency?

Answers

As the planet orbits the sun, the angle at which the sunlight hits the planet's surface may change slightly, but this does not result in significant changes in the amount of sunlight that the planet receives.

On a planet whose rotation axis is not tilted with respect to its orbital plane, the seasons are not pronounced. This is because the amount of sunlight that the planet receives does not change significantly throughout the year.

In contrast, on a planet with a tilted rotation axis, the seasons are much more pronounced. As the planet orbits the sun, the angle at which the sunlight hits the planet's surface changes significantly, resulting in longer periods of sunlight in certain parts of the planet and shorter periods of sunlight in other parts. Answers

At 7 AM (13 hours after 6 PM), the temperature would be close to the average temperature of 59°F, which can be approximated to 65.9°F.

What is the approximate temperature at 7 AM?

The temperature over a 24-hour period can be modeled using a sinusoidal function, given that the high temperature of 77°F occurs at 6 PM and the average temperature is 59°F.

To find the temperature at 7 AM, we need to consider the characteristics of a sinusoidal function. In this case, the function represents a single day, with the peak temperature at 6 PM and the average temperature over the 24-hour period.

Since a sinusoidal function repeats itself every 24 hours, we can infer that the low temperature would occur 12 hours after the high temperature. Therefore, at 7 AM (13 hours after 6 PM), the temperature would be close to the average temperature of 59°F, which can be approximated to 65.9°F.

Conservation of momentum - Internal Motion Problem A man with a mass of 70 kg
is standing on the front end of a flat railroad car, which has a mass of 1,000 kg
and a length of 10 m
. The railroad car is initially at rest relative to the track. The man then walks from one end of the car t
to the other at a speed of 1.0 m/s
relative to the track. Assume there is no friction in the wheels of the railroad car. (a) What happens to the cart while the man is walking? (b) How fast does the cart move? (c) What happens when the man stops at the rear of the car?

Answers

On conservation of momentum:

(a) The cart goes in the opposite direction as the man does.

(b) With a speed of 0.07 m/s, the cart proceeds in the opposite direction as the guy.

(c) the cart starts moving in the forward direction with the same velocity of 0.07 m/s.

How to  determine conservation of momentum?

(a) As per the conservation of momentum, the total momentum of the system is conserved. Initially, the system was at rest, but when the man starts walking towards the other end, he gains some momentum in the forward direction, which the cart has to compensate for. So, the cart moves in the opposite direction to that of the man's motion.

(b) Assume that the man moves a distance of 10 m, i.e., the length of the cart.

Therefore, the total distance covered by the man is 20 m (10 m forward and 10 m backward).

The momentum gained by the man while walking forward is (70 kg) x (1.0 m/s) = 70 kg m/s.

As the total momentum of the system is conserved, the cart gains an equal and opposite momentum of -70 kg m/s.

The mass of the cart is 1,000 kg, so its velocity can be calculated using the conservation of momentum formula:

Total initial momentum = Total final momentum

0 = (70 kg) x (1.0 m/s) + (1,000 kg) x V

V = -0.07 m/s

So, the cart moves in the opposite direction to that of the man's motion with a speed of 0.07 m/s.

(c) When the guy comes to a complete halt at the back of the automobile, he loses the momentum he got while going forward, and the cart obtains equal and opposite motion. As a result, the cart begins going ahead at the same velocity of 0.07 m/s.
