1. critically discuss the effectiveness learning style of the millennial generation.
The effectiveness of the learning style of the millennial generation is a debatable issue that requires critical analysis.
Millennials are the generation born between 1981 and 1996, who have unique characteristics and expectations of the learning process.
They grew up in a digital age and are familiar with technology.
As a result, their learning styles have been significantly affected by technological advancements.
This generation has an excellent ability to multitask, collaborate, and learn independently, which may not have been the case for previous generations.
However, critics argue that the millennial generation has a short attention span, which may hinder their learning process.
Some claim that they are not entirely invested in learning and expect instant gratification.
Others argue that they may not have the patience required to complete a task or project, leading to substandard work.
This lack of engagement and commitment to learning may undermine the effectiveness of their learning style.
On the other hand, advocates argue that the millennial generation's learning style is highly effective.
They have a vast amount of resources at their disposal that are easily accessible through technological devices such as smartphones and laptops.
This generation is also highly collaborative, which can foster peer-to-peer learning and improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In conclusion, the effectiveness of the learning style of the millennial generation is dependent on the individual's approach to learning and level of engagement.
While technology and the ease of access to information have significant potential to improve the effectiveness of their learning style, they need to adopt a disciplined and committed approach to maximize their learning potential.

Assignment - Reflection on the Debates
Assignment
This assignment is worth 10% of your final grade for this course. This is not a team assignment but is an
individual assignment.
Directions:
While you are in this class, you are expected to write a reflection that clearly demonstrates you have thought
about the debates you saw in class. Before you begin to write, ask yourself a series of questions, such as: how do I
feel about my experience of today? How does it affect me? If the concepts we discussed did not affect you, why not?
How does this experience relate to your life or your program of study? Does your experience lend itself to a
comparison and what you have learned in this class? How does it impact your views of the world? How has it
changed your beliefs or ways of thinking? Notice that the questions are all personal. That is because this assignment
requires you to express your own insights. Do not limit yourself to these questions. Explore different ways to state
your opinion. In other words, a Reflection is designed to show your knowledge and, more importantly, your
awareness of how you constructed that knowledge. More than anything else, this is an assignment that will show
what you have learned about critical thinking, therefore it demonstrates depth of thought and not the breadth of your
experience.

What does the quote “When you control a man's thinking, you do not have to worry about his actions.” by Carter G. Woodson mean?? And can you help me fix this essay that I’m writing and also with coming up with a better essay for the quote??
The purpose of this Pre-test Essay is to determine how well you can write an academic essay. Your essay should include (a) an introduction that includes a position statement (thesis), (b) at least three body paragraphs, and (c) a conclusion. An advanced proficiency level essay requires a central idea (thesis) directly related to the topic; has a clear organizational plan; develops points with evidence and support; is coherent and logical; and is free of frequent errors in grammar, mechanics, word choice and sentence structure.
Essay: Dr. Woodson is trying to convey to the audience that when you tell someone to do something repeatedly. They will immediately find their place with someone saying anything. We know what he is going to do. He will either engage in good or bad actions.
For example, back at home in New Rochelle, New York, I do the dishes and get the garbage from around the house without being told to do so. This is mostly the case because my brothers will forget most of the time and my parents can rely on me most times. When I know that the chores are supposed to be taken care of, I do them and get help when I need it. What this taught me was that it is how it pertains to why this is related to Woodson’s quote.
Another scenario of this quote and how it relates to my life is when I know I am supposed to do my homework, I get onto it, and I will take my time with my assignments and ask for help when I need it. If I am falling behind on an assignment or need more time, I would email my teachers to let them know so that they will understand where I am coming from, and I would have them look over it to see where I need progression especially when I am drafting an essay. I would take their advice but also dig deeper into it. Meaning that I will write more than what the teacher suggests but still getting some help from them by me asking them about the assignment and trying to make it better. Then I feel like I make a relationship with the teachers because I am going to get help from them most of the time when I am having a tough time understanding it.
A third and final example of Woodson’s quote that relates to me is when I am at certain extracurriculars like with sports such as Swimming and Tennis as well as musical activities like band. I feel like this case connects to Woodson’s quote because when I know I am supposed to be at a practice, a game, or a concert. The coach or instructor will know that I am going to come every time because I am mostly present. The coach but when I have an emergency in case, I cannot make that event. I would send them a message to let them know. So that way I will not be penalized for not being there.
This quote by Carter G. Woodson tells us repeatedly that if you want something you will keep wanting to have it. If you communicate, people have nothing to worry about. Finally, if you know what you are doing and you follow instructions then you are well cared for.
Answer:
For ages, humans have been questioning whether one will be constrained if the cognitive process is limited by society. By the end of the American Civil War in the 1930s, Carter G. Woodson wrote a book, The Mis-Education of the Negro, in which he stated, "When you control a man's thinking, you do not have to worry about his actions." Woodson argues that if one allows their thinking to be controlled, then their action will be predictable and manipulatable, without the need of being told.
Explanation:
First: (Not in this essay, general tip) Avoid using anything like "I" or "You"
It makes the academic essay seems informal and weak, but because this pre-test essay is not very formal with only one source of evidence, it's an exception.
Second Mistake: Don't be too rigid in writing.
Instead of starting with the thesis directly, have some kind of hook and some background information, like the example provided above.
Third Mistake: Avoid ambiguous words like "good or bad"
It's too general, and they do not make you sound like a mature writer.
Fourth Mistake: Too many simple sentences
Connect some phrases together with conjunctions -- the essay will be too dull otherwise.
Fifth Mistake: Writing in general
Connecting back to the second mistake, don't be so rigid! That means you don't have to follow a structure like: "This shows ... meaning ... which also shows ... another example is ... finally ... this shows..." Instead, try to connect all of your ideas together without these phrases.
Another suggestion, use professional words. Ex: Instead of saying that Woodson tells us, you can say that Woodson illustrates the importance of ...
Check your grammar with an online tool.
Sixth Mistake: So What?
In the conclusion, why does this quote matter? What background context made Woodson say that? How can this quote be applied to a bigger message?
Woodson wrote the book to illustrate the suppression of the education system on African Americans. If he says that one doesn't have to tell someone to achieve a purpose, how does that connect to his quote?
Hint: This means that certain systems in society will only continue to suppress the victims of injustice, to the point where the victims know to do something even if they are not told directly. For example, during the 1930s, although the educational system seems to be proclaiming fairness with the means of integration, African American Students were afraid to integrate, because the oppression from society was obvious -- just like what Woodson later emphasized, "If you make a man feel that he is inferior, you do not have to compel him to accept an inferior status, for he will seek it himself."

Read the poem "The Wife-Woman," by Anne Spencer.
Maker-of-sevens in the scheme of things
From earth to star;
Thy cycle holds whatever is fate, and
Over the border the bar.
Though rank and fierce the mariner
Sailing the seven seas,
He prays, as he holds his glass to his eyes,
Coaxing the Pleiades.
I cannot love them; and I feel your glad
Chiding from the grave,
That my all was only worth at all, what
Joy to you it gave.
These seven links the Law compelled
For the human chain—
I cannot love them; and you, oh,
Seven-fold months in Flanders slain!
A jungle there, a cave here, bred six
And a million years,
Sure and strong, mate for mate, such
Love as culture fears;
I gave you clear the oil and wine;
You saved me your hob and hearth—
See how even life may be ere the
Sickle comes and leaves a swath.
But I can wait the seven of moons,
Or years I spare,
Hoarding the heart’s plenty, nor spend
A drop, nor share—
So long but outlives a smile and
A silken gown;
Then gaily I reach up from my shroud,
And you, glory-clad, reach down.
What is the main difference between “The Wife-Woman” and Frost’s poem "Mending Wall"?
the use of rhyming in “The Wife-Woman”
the use of iambic pentameter in “The Wife-Woman”
the use of free verse in “Mending Wall”
the use of rhyming in “Mending Wall”
The main difference between "The Wife-Woman" by Anne Spencer and "Mending Wall" by Robert Frost is the use of form. "Mending Wall" uses free verse. Hence, option C is correct.
"The Wife-Woman" has a consistent rhyme scheme, with end rhymes appearing in every other line. The poem also follows a consistent meter of iambic tetrameter, which means there are four iambic feet per line.
On the other hand, "Mending Wall" does not follow a consistent rhyme scheme or meter. Instead, it uses free verse, which means that there is no set pattern of rhyme or meter.

Answer: Let's denote the set of all sophomores at the school as "A" and the set of all students in discrete mathematics at the school as "B". Then:
The set of sophomores who are also in discrete mathematics, "A ∩ B", can be expressed as the intersection of sets A and B.
The set of all students who are either sophomores or in discrete mathematics, "A ∪ B", can be expressed as the union of sets A and B.
The set of all students who are sophomores but not in discrete mathematics, "A - B", can be expressed as the difference of set A and B.
The set of all students who are not sophomores and not in discrete mathematics, "U - (A ∪ B)", where "U" is the universal set of all students in the school, can be expressed as the complement of the union of sets A and B.

My Syrian Diary, in contrast to most journals, was made public. Teenage Marah, who lives in one of Syria's besieged cities, tells her wartime survival stories. Despite the ongoing violence that has destroyed neighborhood schools and checkpoints that have made the commute to school all but impossible, she has a dream of obtaining a degree. The Assad regime is once again largely in charge of Aleppo, but the city remains a shell of what it once was, some six years after it was retaken. d. George does not know where Lennie went and is leaving to find him before the mob does. - False
e. The mob believes that Lennie took Carson's gun with him when he left. - True
In John Steinbeck's novella "Of Mice and Men," the correct statements are as follows:
c. George believes the dream of the farm is destroyed because he realizes he will always be a powerless person in society. After the tragic events surrounding Lennie, George understands that their shared dream of owning a farm and achieving independence is shattered.
e. The mob believes that Lennie took Carson's gun with him when he left. The mob, seeking revenge for the death of Curley's wife, assumes that Lennie has taken the gun with him, which adds urgency to their pursuit.
The other statements are false. George does not tell Candy that they can still achieve the farm together; instead, he confides in him about the impossibility of their dream. Additionally, George knows exactly where Lennie went and makes a difficult decision related to Lennie's fate, not merely to find him before the mob. Lastly, George does not believe that the mob will put Lennie in jail; he knows they intend to kill him.
