In at least three sentences, answer the following questions. How did smallpox help the Spanish gain power in the New World? What impact did the introduction of smallpox have on the growth of African slavery? What impact did the introduction of smallpox have on the
population of the indigenous people?

Answers

Answer:

The spread of smallpox throughout Tenochtitlan severely weakened the Aztec people and helped the Spanish in there final their final battle against the city. Smallpox destroyed Native communities that, with no immunity, were unable to fight off the virus. Smallpox also entered the colonies on slave ships, transmitted by enslaved people who, in packed and unsanitary quarters, passed the disease along to one another and, eventually, to colonists at their destinations. Native Americans who experienced the early smallpox epidemics did not know how to respond effectively and did exacerbate mortality rate; however, as time progressed and interaction with Europeans increased, indigenous knowledge of the disease increased, enabling them to avoid the disease as effectively as was possible.

what is the difference between federalists and centrists?

Answers

There is no clear comparison between federalists and centrists because they represent two distinct political views.

The difference between federalists and centrists

Federalists and centrists are two different political ideologies and there is no direct comparison between them.

Federalism is a system of government where power is divided between a central government and regional governments, such as states or provinces. In a federal system, the central government has specific powers that are outlined in a constitution or other governing document, while the regional governments have their own powers and responsibilities that are separate from the central government.

Centrism, on the other hand, is a political philosophy that emphasizes moderation and a balanced approach to governance. Centrists often seek to find a middle ground between different political ideologies and prioritize compromise over strict adherence to a particular set of beliefs. Centrists may support policies that draw from both conservative and liberal ideologies, and may be willing to work with members of both major political parties in order to achieve their goals.

In summary, federalism refers to a system of government structure, while centrism refers to a political philosophy that emphasizes moderation and compromise. These are two different concepts and not directly comparable.

Answers

The Portuguese caravel was B: a ship based on an Arabic design.

What is the the Portuguese caravel  about?

The caravel was a small, highly maneuverable sailing ship that originated in the Mediterranean in the late Middle Ages. It was used by Portuguese navigators during the Age of Discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries to explore and map the world. The design of the caravel was based on the Arabic qarib, which was a small and fast vessel used for fishing and coastal trade in the Mediterranean.

Therefore, the caravel was characterized by a high, narrow hull, a large rudder, and triangular lateen sails that allowed it to sail closer to the wind than traditional square-rigged ships. This made the caravel more maneuverable and allowed it to sail against prevailing winds and currents. The caravel was also equipped with a shallow draft, which made it suitable for exploring shallow coastal waters and river estuaries.

Lee's Surrender To Grant, At Appomattox Court House, Was Considered To Be The Most Significant Surrender Of The Civil War.

The bloody four-year American Civil War came to an end on April 9, 1865, when General Robert E. Lee surrendered his Confederate forces to Ulysses S. Grant of the Union at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. However, it would take President Andrew Johnson more than 16 months to formally finish the war in August 1866.

Merely his Army of Northern Virginia had been turned over by Lee to Grant. Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's Army of Tennessee, the second-biggest Confederate army after Lee's, was among the remaining active Confederate forces. President Johnson declared the end of the insurrection in all former Confederate states in 1866, with the exception of Texas, which had not yet been successful in forming a state government.

From Freezing to Globalizing (The Cold War, and Globalization)

What is The Cold War, and Globalization? Why are they so important? How did they shape the world we live in today?

In 1945, World War II ended. This meant different things to different areas of the world. In Europe, the war left deep scars that did not heal easily, especially when it came to its economy. In the United States, 1945 was the beginning of an economic boom, as the US was able to take advantage of the markets not covered by Europe, while at the same time increasing production to help with the rebuilding of the continent. Another power that became stronger after the end of the war was the Soviet Union.

The years that followed WWII are known as the Cold War, as the United States and the Soviet Union fought for control of other countries. Their opposite ideals of (capitalism vs. communism) led to a Brobdingnagian conflict. Ultimately, the Cold War diminished in importance during the 1980s and 1990s, as the Soviet Union adopted more capitalist measures. Eventually, the Union would break up and collapse resulting in the creation of Russia and several other countries. Leaving The United as the world’s only superpower.

The years following the end of the Soviet Union saw a congenital transformation of communication technology, mostly due to the internet. The creation of the internet and the popularity of new technological devices such as (computers, cell phones, etc.) led to a nonpareil phenomenon known as globalization. Globalization allowed us to be in closer contact with the rest of the world, a process that continues to this day.

This is how globalization and The Cold War shaped the world. These two unexpected events have changed the world into the world we see today and into the world, we'll see tomorrow.

Lincoln’s most urgent problem at the beginning of his presidency was _____. slavery angry southerners Fort Sumter starving troops

Answers

Lincoln's most urgent problem at the beginning of his presidency was slavery.

The issue of slavery had been a contentious topic for years, and it was becoming increasingly divisive. Southern states were heavily reliant on slavery for their economy, while northern states were increasingly opposed to the practice. Lincoln himself was firmly against slavery, and he believed that it was a moral issue that needed to be addressed.

However, Lincoln's stance on slavery made him deeply unpopular among angry southerners who saw it as an attack on their way of life. This hostility was further inflamed by the fact that Lincoln had been elected without receiving a single vote from a southern state. This led to growing tensions between the north and south, which ultimately culminated in the start of the Civil War.

As the conflict escalated, Lincoln was faced with a number of urgent problems, including the need to feed and support starving troops, as well as the need to defend key strategic locations like Fort Sumter. However, the root cause of these problems was the issue of slavery, and it remained Lincoln's most urgent problem throughout his presidency.

B.
Radical Republicans felt Lincoln's approach was too strong.
C.

D.

Answers

the answer is c, lincolns approach wasn’t strong enough

The Radical Republicans' approach to Reconstruction differ from Lincoln's as Radical Republicans felt Lincoln's approach wasn't strong enough.

Lincoln's proposal was criticised by the Radical Republicans because they felt it was too lenient on the South. Radical Republicans felt that Lincoln's plan for Reconstruction was too lenient because, in their eyes, the South had been responsible for beginning the war and should have been punished accordingly.

Who were Radical republicans and why did they oppose Lincoln?

The Radical Republicans were a faction of American politicians within the Republican Party from the founding of the Republican Party in 1854 until the end of Reconstruction in the Compromise of 1877.

The Radical Republicans disagreed with Lincoln's Reconstruction (1863) conditions because they thought they were too lax. They suggested a "ironclad oath" that would bar Confederate supporters from casting ballots in Southern elections, but Lincoln rejected it. He also vetoed the Wade-Davis Bill after it was enacted by Radicals in 1864. The radicals advocated that the war be waged more aggressively, that slavery be abolished sooner, and that the Confederacy be completely destroyed.
