A total of 388 tickets were sold for the school play they were either adult tickets or student tickets the number of student tickets sold was three times the number of adult tickets sold how many adult tickets were sold
Answer:
97
Step-by-step explanation:
Number of adult tickets = a.
Number of student tickets = s.
"A total of 388 tickets were sold"
a + s = 388
"the number of student tickets sold was three times the number of adult tickets sold"
s = 3a
a + s = 388
s = 3a
Substitute s in the first equation with 3a.
a + 3a = 388
4a = 388
a = 97
Answer: 97 tickets

LITERALLY GIVING LIKE 30 POINTS OR WHATEVER IM DESPERATE PLEASE I NEED MODULE 4 NOTES FOR FLVS 8TH GRADE PRE-ALGEBRA?? I HAVE A DBA AND NEED NOTES I BEG ITS FOR MRS. MEURER'S CLASS
Answer: While I am not in your class and can not unfortunately specifically help with this I can still give you a basic overview of what you need to know in most pre algebra courses and you can hopefully then use this information in the best way possible.
Step-by-step explanation: Some of the basic pre algebra concepts include:
Knowing your basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I am assuming you know how to do this sort of math. For example, I mean problems such as 5+4 or 10/5, but if you do need help with these just ask me and I can help you further.
Basic variable usage: This means being able to solve problems such as x + 10 = 15. I can help walk you through this sort of problem. The variable (which is usually represented by the letter x) is used as a placeholder for an unknown number that you need to solve for. You can think of this more simply in the example I gave as What plus 10 is equal to 15. That might help you get the basics down if you can think of a problem that way. As you can probably tell now the answer would be 5. There may be also more advanced problems regarding variables but not all pre algebra classes will include this material so if you need a review in this you can ask me as well.
Another basic concept is the concept of solving equations. This can also mean using both addition and multiplication within one equation or things of that nature. These equations can look something like 18 - (5 + 3^2) + 7 and I can help walk you through a problem like this. An important fact to remember is the order of operations, which is the way in which you must solve more complex equations like this or if you need to think of it another way it can mean the way you break down an equation. You probably have heard of PEMDAS before and this is the way you can remember the order of operations. It is an acronym with each of the letters representing an operation. P = parenthesis E = exponents M = Multiplication D = division A = addition and S = subtraction. Now we can use this to solve the equation! First we should start within the parenthesis so lets only look at that portion of the problem for now to keep things simpler. Inside the parenthesis it said 5 + 3^2 We see addition and exponents within the parenthesis so because of PEMDAS we should start with the exponent. Exponents just mean the amount of times you need to multiply the base number by itself. The base number is the number the exponent is "attached" to. Our base number is 3 and the exponent is 2 which means we should do the following math 3 * 3 which equals 9 Now we can go back to our original problem inside the parenthesis. In place of the 3^2 we can instead put 9 now as we know its the answer for that part of the problem. What we have now is 5 + 9 and we can simply add that to get 14. This means inside the parenthesis we can replace with just the number 14 as we have already solved everything we need for it. The equation now looks like --> 18 - (14) + 7. Now what we have left is addition and subtraction. Remember on PEMDAS how multiplication and division were next to each other along with addition and subtraction? For these 4 just because they are next to each other does not dictate the other rather when you are dealing with either just multiplication and division in a problem you work left to right and the same goes for addition and subtraction and since our resulting problem only has addition and subtraction left we will simply just work from the left of the equation to the right. Our problem as of now is 18 - (14) + 7. 18 - 14 = 4 so we can now have the equation be 4 + 7 and after adding we get our answer which is 11! I hope you were able to follow along with that and my explanations were satisfactory.
Hopefully at least some of this included in your module 4 but if you would elaborate more I would more than happily assist you more so please do not hesitate to reach out :)

There is a ratio of 5 apples to 3 pears in a basket. There are 24 pears in the basket. How many apples are in the basker?
Answer:
There are 40 apples in the basket.
This is because 5 apples to 3 pears have a difference of 1.66666667 when dividing 5 by 3 to show the ratio difference. Then, all you do is multiply this number by the number of total pears which would look like 24 x 1.66666667 = 40.

Betsy, a recent retiree, requires $6,000 per year in extra income. She has $60,000 to invest and can invest in B-rated bonds paying 13% per year or in a certificate of deposit (CD) paying 5% per year. How much money should be invested in each to realize exactly $6,000 in interest per year?
$37,500 should be invested in B-rated bonds and $22,500 should be invested in a certificate of deposit in order to realize exactly $6,000 in interest per year.
The total amount to be invested is $60,000. We are given two options for investing the money.The money can be invested either in B-rated bonds, which pays 13% interest per year, or in a certificate of deposit (CD), which pays 5% interest per year.Let the amount to be invested in B-rated bonds be 'x'. The amount to be invested in a certificate of deposit equals 60,000-x. The requirement is to get an exact amount of interest that equals $6000. The total interest per year = 13% of 'x' + 5% of (60,000-x).6,000 = 13x/100 + 5(60,000-x)/100.6,00,000 = 13x + 5(60,000-x)6,00,000 = 13x + 300,000-5x6,00,000 = 8x + 300,0008x = 300,000x = 300,000/8x = 37,500Now calculate the value of 60,000-x.60,000-x = 60,000-37,50060,000-x = 22,500Thus, the amount to be invested in B-rated bonds is $37,500 and the amount to be invested in a certificate of deposit is $22,500.To learn more about interest, visit :

To find the height of the cylinder when the volume is given as 1500 in³ and the radius is 7 inches, we can use the formula for the volume of a cylinder:
Volume = π * r² * h
Substituting the given values, we have:
\(1500 = 3.14 * 7^2 * h1500 = 3.14 * 49 * h1500 = 153.86 * h\)
To solve for h, we divide both sides of the equation by 153.86:
h = 1500 / 153.86
h ≈ 9.75
Rounding the answer to the nearest hundredth, the height of the cylinder is approximately 9.75 inches.
Therefore, the height of the cylinder is 9.75 inches.
Note: It is important to use the accurate value of π, which is approximately 3.14159, for precise calculations. However, in this case, since you specified to use 3.14 for π, I have used that approximation to calculate the height.

Out of 20 people how many would you expect to say that they like all seasons
Answer:
None
Step-by-step explanation:
Truly, I'm not sure what type of problem this is, but most people don't favor all the seasons. If there is more to the problem, I would be glad to help further.
Answer:
One possible way to estimate how many people out of 20 would say that they like all seasons is to use a simple random sample. A simple random sample is a subset of a population that is selected in such a way that every member of the population has an equal chance of being included. For example, one could use a random number generator to assign a number from 1 to 20 to each person in the population, and then select the first 20 numbers that appear. The sample would then consist of the people who have those numbers.
Using a simple random sample, one could ask each person in the sample whether they like all seasons or not, and then calculate the proportion of positive responses. This proportion is an estimate of the true proportion of people in the population who like all seasons. However, this estimate is not exact, and it may vary depending on the sample that is selected. To measure the uncertainty of the estimate, one could use a confidence interval. A confidence interval is a range of values that is likely to contain the true proportion with a certain level of confidence. For example, a 95% confidence interval means that if the sampling procedure was repeated many times, 95% of the intervals would contain the true proportion.
One way to construct a confidence interval for a proportion is to use the formula:
p ± z * sqrt(p * (1 - p) / n)
where p is the sample proportion, z is a critical value that depends on the level of confidence, and n is the sample size. For a 95% confidence interval, z is approximately 1.96. For example, if out of 20 people in the sample, 12 said that they like all seasons, then the sample proportion is 0.6, and the confidence interval is:
0.6 ± 1.96 * sqrt(0.6 * (1 - 0.6) / 20)
which simplifies to:
0.6 ± 0.22
or:
(0.38, 0.82)
This means that we are 95% confident that the true proportion of people who like all seasons in the population is between 0.38 and 0.82. Therefore, based on this sample and this confidence interval, we would expect between 8 and 16 people out of 20 to say that they like all seasons in the population.

Therefore, the average debt for a sophomore, a junior, and a senior combined is $2148.
What is equation?In mathematics, an equation is a statement that asserts the equality of two expressions. An equation typically consists of two parts: the left-hand side (LHS) and the right-hand side (RHS), separated by an equals sign (=). Each part of the equation can contain variables, constants, and mathematical operations (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). The variables in an equation represent unknown quantities that we are trying to solve for, while the constants are fixed values.
Here,
Let's denote the average debt for a sophomore by x. Then, the average debt for a junior is x + 504, and the average debt for a senior is x + 1175.
According to the problem, the combined debt for a sophomore, a junior, and a senior is $6446. Therefore, we can write:
x + (x + 504) + (x + 1175) = 6446
Simplifying and solving for x, we get:
3x + 1679 = 6446
3x = 4767
x = 1589
Therefore, the average debt for a sophomore is $1589. To find the average debt for a junior, we add $504 to this amount, giving an average debt of $2093. To find the average debt for a senior, we add $1175 to the amount for a sophomore, giving an average debt of $2764.
Finally, to determine the average debt for a sophomore, a junior, and a senior combined, we add these three amounts and divide by 3:
($1589 + $2093 + $2764)/3 = $2148

The quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form is:
7/21 * (cos(584°) + i sin(584°))
To find the quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form, we'll express both complex numbers in trigonometric form and then divide them.
Let's represent z₁ in trigonometric form as z₁ = r₁(cosθ₁ + isinθ₁), where r₁ is the magnitude of z₁ and θ₁ is the argument of z₁.
We have:
z₁ = 7(cos(577°) + i sin(577°))
Now, let's represent z₂ in trigonometric form as z₂ = r₂(cosθ₂ + isinθ₂), where r₂ is the magnitude of z₂ and θ₂ is the argument of z₂.
From the given information, we have:
z₂ = 21(cos(-7°) + i sin(-77°))
To find the quotient, we divide z₁ by z₂:
z₁ / z₂ = (r₁/r₂) * [cos(θ₁ - θ₂) + i sin(θ₁ - θ₂)]
Substituting the given values, we have:
z₁ / z₂ = (7/21) * [cos(577° - (-7°)) + i sin(577° - (-7°))]
= (7/21) * [cos(584°) + i sin(584°)]
The quotient of z₁ by z₂ in trigonometric form is:
7/21 * (cos(584°) + i sin(584°))
Option C, 21(cos(-7°) + i sin(-77°)), is not the correct answer as it does not represent the quotient of z₁ by z₂.

make v the subject of the formula in H=m(v²-u²)/2gx
Answer:
\(v=\sqrt{\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}+u^2}\)
Step-by-step explanation:
The given formula is :
\(H=\dfrac{m(v^2-u^2)}{2gx}\)
We need to find the formula for v.
Cross multiplying the given formula.
\(H\times 2gx=m(v^2-u^2)\)
Dividing both sides by m. So,
\(\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}=\dfrac{m(v^2-u^2)}{m}\\\\(v^2-u^2)=\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}\)
Adding both sides by u².
\((v^2-u^2)+u^2=\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}+u^2\\\\v^2=\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}+u^2\\\\\text{So},\\\\v=\sqrt{\dfrac{H\times 2gx}{m}+u^2}\)
Hence, this is the required formula.
A scientist studied the migration patterns of two types of whales:
The humpback whale traveled 2,000 miles in 25 days.
The gray whale traveled 2,250 miles in 30 days.
Assuming the humpback whale travels the same distance each day, what is the unit rate for the humpback whale in miles per day?
Answer:
80 miles per day
Step-by-step explanation:
Let the unit rate be x miles per day for humpback whale
It means that in one day humpback whale travels x miles
Given that it traveled for 25 days
in 1 day humpback whale traveled = x miles
in 1*25 days humpback whale traveled = x*25 miles
Thus, in 25 days humpback whale traveled 25x miles
given that humpback whale traveled 2000 mile sin 25 days
thus,
25x = 2000
x = 2000/25 = 80
Thus, unit rate for humpback whale is 80 miles per day

The area of a square is 36 sq.cm, then its perimeter is a) 24 cm b) 6 cm c) 144 cm d) 36 cm
Answer:
Step-by-step explanation:
3.6*
It is very easy to find the perimeter of a square when its area is given in the question. For that, you only ned to know one fomula. That formula is: Area = side^2
For this particular question, the given value for the area of the square is 36 sq.cm. So, we can solve for the side(s) by substituting the given value in the above mentioned formula.
We get
36 = s^2
Now, we need to get the square root of both sides, which gives us
s = √36 s = 6 cm
Since all the sides of a square are equal in length, the side length is 6 cm. Now to determine the perimeter, we must multiply the side length by 4 (because there are 4 equal sides in a square). That gives us Perimeter = 4 x side length Perimeter = 4 x 6 cm.
Therefore, the perimeter of the square is 24 cm.
